요즘은 참 도망치고 싶은 날들인데, 도망칠 곳도 없고 함께 도망가줄 사람도 없다. 외롭다는 게 이런걸까.

올랜도 참사 소식은 정말 너무도 참담했다.
퀴퍼의 여운 속에 겨우 마음을 달래고 당장 내일을 위한 일들을 이어가고 있었는데, 미국 최악의 총기난사를 기록한 것이 또 혐오범죄였다. "나일 수도 있었다"는 말이 그림자처럼 지구 반대편에서 들려왔고, 나의 작은 세상은 또 고요했다. "가장 안전하다고 믿었을" 공간에서 수십명의 세상이 지워졌다.

동시에 너무 소중한 사람들이 한꺼번에 떠나가고 있다. 언젠가 스칠 사람들일 것을 알고는 있었지만 꽤 힘이 든다.

끔찍함을 배가시키는지, 달래는지 모를 곡을 요즘은 끊임없이 듣고 있다.
